Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils extracted from plants and flowers for healing. The oils can be used alone or in blends. Essential oils have myriad functions upon skin absorption; they can be antibacterial, analgesic, calming, uplifting and invigorating. The most common forms of usage are massage, bath inhalation and vaporization.

Aromatherapy has been used for muscular pains, menstrual cramps, skin ailments, nervous problems, e.g., anxiety, insomnia, depression and stress.

Essential oils can be used in the bath or for massage. It is popularly used in a burner as a quick fix stressbuster. Many workshops and short courses are now available which teach the basic principles of aromatherapy for home use.
